The School Made a Statement, So Let Me Make One Too
The school made a statement regarding a certain incident, as follows: Let me also make a personal statement:
STATEMENT
In recent years, some organizations and individuals have illegally used my name to run embedded training courses. For this reason, I personally state as follows:
I am a faculty member of Tongji University Software School, engaged in undergraduate and graduate education in software engineering. My current courses include: “Windows CE Embedded System” course and lab (undergraduate and graduate), “Object-Oriented Programming” (graduate), “Large Database Design and Application” (graduate).
Except for the above, I have never authorized any organization or individual to run training courses. If anyone claims that I am running training courses, please directly send them to the “Chengguan” (urban management) team for handling.
That’s me July 17, 2008
Hehe, I wonder if this has any legal效力. I consider myself a relatively低调 person, but I’ve written some things online. Turns out my name appeared on several training websites. Should I feel honored — my name actually has advertising value?
The funniest thing is: on a company’s BBS WinCE discussion board, the moderator was listed as “omale.” Poor me — I’ve never even visited that site. I suspect they registered an “omale” ID themselves and made it moderator. Very creative. Sigh, the nickname “omale” was originally my QQ name from freshman year when joking with classmates from the Accounting department (the “correct” pronunciation is “O-ma-le,” not “O-mare.” Maybe one day I’ll follow Linux之父 Linus Torvalds and record a WAV file to set the record straight: “Hello, this is omale and I pronounce omale as oma-le”). Although the original intention was rather crude, I discovered that when registering on various domestic and international websites, the ID “omale” almost never has duplicates — simple and memorable. So I’ve used it ever since. Never thought even this nickname would be stolen. How fortunate — I’ll sing to express my aspirations.
